Weekly JOFO — No. 28, 2021

Weekly things I found worth sharing and why. If you know what I’m like, you might like these things too.

  1. keybr.com has one of the best comparison explanations for the top four keyboard layouts. Because Dvorak has the lowest percentage of “keys typed by the same hand” i.e. it is more balanced in distributing the load between my right and left hands, I still prefer it when compared to Colemak or Workman but your mileage may vary. Also check out my favourite keyboard game zty.pe for endless fun.

  2. In the same spirit, checkout monkey see monkey type for a nice UI to practise typing. Unlike keybr.com, monkey type always gives you real English words to practice. I cannot stop doing their 15 seconds typing exercise. (It’s also easier to reach 100+ wpm. Easy confidence boost!)

  3. The great Andrew Huberman walked through what he does for his entire day. If you like biohacking stuff, you might want to check it out. I found new things I can apply to my day: a hypnosis app and having carbs for dinner.
